Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
3/4 lb. ground round
2 1/2 c. stewed or regular canned tomatoes
1 1/2 c. whole kernel corn
2/3 c. corn meal (yellow)
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Heat oil in heavy skillet.
Add onion and green pepper; cook over low heat until softened but not browned.
Add ground round, spreading it over bottom of skillet.
Continue cooking until meat is browned, stirring to brown evenly.
Add remaining ingredients and place in greased baking dish.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) about 1 hour.
Serve with tomato sauce.
Makes 6 servings.
