Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 potatoes
    1 stick butter
    1 can evaporated milk
    4 qt. water
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 onion
Preparation
    Peel and dice potatoes and onion in a 4-quart saucepan.
    Cover about 4-inches with water and cook until tender. Add water to about 5-inches from top.
    After tender, add milk and butter. Bring to a scalding boil, then add egg and flour mixture which is called \"rivels\".
    Sprinkle over milk and potato mixture and stir constantly. Add a little at a time.
