Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs and beat well. Make a paste of cocoa and red food coloring.
    Add to creamed mixture. Mix salt, vanilla and buttermilk together.
    Add cake flour alternately with buttermilk mixture to creamed mixture.
    Mix baking soda and vinegar together, then fold into batter.
    Do not beat or stir. Bake in 2 greased 9-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
