Tex-Mex Tostada Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 (16 oz.) can pinto beans, drained
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. water
    2/3 to 1 c. picante sauce
    1/4 tsp. ground cumin
    tortilla chips
    shredded Cheddar cheese
    shredded lettuce
Preparation
    Brown meat with onion in large pan.
    Drain well.
    Drain tomatoes; chop.
    Reserve juice.
    Add tomatoes and juice to pan with beans, tomato sauce, water, picante sauce and cumin.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Ladle into soup bowls.
    Top with cheese, chips and lettuce.
    Add additional picante sauce as desired.
