Irish Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. raisins
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt and set aside.
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add beaten egg and buttermilk and blend well.
    Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients.
    Mix the rest by hand only until ingredients are moistened.
    Fold in raisins.
    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart glass casserole.
    Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle with a little sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Reduce to 325\u00b0 and bake about 30 minutes longer. Test middle of loaf before removing from oven.
    Cool completely.
