Orange Crunchies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening, soft
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. evaporated milk
    3 c. corn flakes
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped nuts
    1 tsp. grated orange rind
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
    Put into bowl soft shortening.
    Add sugar gradually, mixing well until light and fluffy.
    Add egg and beat hard.
    Stir in about half of flour mixture.
    Stir in milk.
    Add the remaining flour and mix well.
    Fold in corn flakes, nuts and orange rind.
    Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
    Bake on oven rack slightly above center at 325\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until light brown.
    Watch closely while baking.
    Remove from oven baking sheet at once.
    Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
