Angel Food Pie Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. crushed pineapple
1 c. cold water
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 eggs, separated
whipped cream
coconut or nuts
Preparation

Beat egg yolks.
Add sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add pineapple and water.
Cook in double boiler until thickened.
Fold in beaten egg whites while mixture is still hot.
Cool.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Cover with whipped cream; sprinkle with coconut or nuts.
