Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 c. nuts
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.
    Beat in eggs.
    Stir in flour and add nuts.
    Spread 3/4 of mixture in greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
    Cover with cherries.
    Drop remaining batter by spoonfuls on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
