Whole Wheat Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 cake (0.6 oz.) yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    5 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in bowl.
    Mix well and cool to lukewarm.
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; stir in milk mixture. Gradually stir in flour to make a stiff dough.
    Beat well after each addition.
    Cover bowl with damp towel.
    Let rise; knead dough on floured board.
    Divide dough in half; shape into 2 loaves, adding if sticky.
    Place loaves in 2 pans, greased lightly.
    Brush tops with melted butter.
    Cover and let rise until double in size.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 until done, 35 to 40 minutes.
