Italian Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    drippings from meatballs
    oil
    1 large garlic clove, minced
    2 cans tomato puree
    water to equal puree
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1 tsp. Italian seasoning
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Pour meatball drippings into saucepan; should be 1 1/4 cups. If not, add oil.
    Brown minced garlic clove in drippings.
    Add tomato puree and equal amount of water.
    When sauce comes to a boil, add sugar and seasonings.
    Cover pot, reduce heat and simmer 2 or 3 hours until thick.
    Stir frequently.
