Minestrone Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. lean bacon, cut up
    2 cans condensed onion soup
    1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can solid tomatoes, cut up (with juice)
    1 c. diced carrots
    1 c. diced potatoes (White Rose)
    1 c. diced celery
    1/2 lb. diced zucchini
    1 small bunch parsley, chopped
    1 bay leaf, crumbled
    generous pinches of thyme, marjoram and basil
    salt and pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    9 c. water
    1 1/2 c. broken spaghetti, uncooked
    1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    2 cans Seaside lima beans (1 lb. each)
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except spaghetti, beans and cheese. Bring to a boil. Simmer gently, covered, for 1 hour.
    Add spaghetti and cook for 30 minutes, stirring.
    Add beans and cheese.
    Makes a big pot.
