Cheater Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    3/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (16 oz.) can chili-type kidney beans, drained
    1 (48 oz.) can V-8
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
    5 to 6 dashes bottled hot pepper sauce
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a large kettle, cook ground beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until meat is browned.
    Drain off fat.
    Combine remaining ingredients and bring to boiling.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 20 minutes.
    Taste before serving, adding more chili powder or hot sauce, if desired.
