Grandma'S Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 large Pippin apples, peeled
    1 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. butter, softened (divided use)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    lemon juice
    vanilla ice-cream (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0. Combine 1/2 cup butter, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon for topping. In a 7 x 7-inch pan, spread apples and dot with 1/4
    cup butter and lemon. Crumble topping generously over apples. bake for 30 minutes. Touch with knife to test apples for softness. Serve piping hot with vanilla ice-cream.
