Jan Hagel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. softened butter or margarine
    1 c. white sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, separated
Preparation
    Mix the first 5 ingredients together with egg yolk.
    Press flat onto greased cookie sheet. Spread with egg white, slightly beaten. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar with a little cinnamon added over egg white. Top with sliced almonds.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until nicely browned. Cut into squares while warm.
    Cookies should be thin and crisp.
