Orange Slice Candy Cake With Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    4 eggs
    2 c. nuts, chopped
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 lb. orange slices, chopped
    1 small can Angel Flake coconut
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 lb. dates, chopped
    2 c. sugar
    3 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until smooth.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Dissolve soda in milk and add to creamed mixture.
    Place flour in a large bowl.
    Add dates, orange slices, nuts and coconut.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    This makes a very stiff dough (mix with hands).
    Bake in three greased and floured 9-inch pans.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
