Caramel Poppycock - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. popcorn (6 qt. popped corn)
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. butter or oleo
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. chopped peanuts
Preparation
    Pop corn as directed.
    In large saucepan combine brown sugar, butter, syrup and salt.
    Heat to boiling and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda.
    Stir hot syrup into popped corn and peanuts.
    Spread on baking sheet.
    Bake at 200\u00b0 for 1 hour, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes.
    Cool.
    Makes 5 quarts.
