Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 can LeSueur green peas
    1 1/2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 1/2 c. shredded mild Cheddar cheese
    8 strips bacon, drained and crumbled
Preparation
    Arrange lettuce in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    In layers, add other vegetables.
    Do not toss!
    Spread mayonnaise evenly over layer of peas.
    Sprinkle with sugar and Cheddar cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
    Sprinkle bacon over salad before serving.
    Cut into squares.
    Makes 10 to 12 servings.
    This may be made the night before serving.
