Ingredients

6 eggs
1 lb. flour
6 drops oil of anise
1/2 lb. butter or shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Beat eggs with salt; add sugar; blend thoroughly.
Sift flour and baking powder; add to eggs and sugar.
Add anise oil and butter; mix well.
Knead until smooth.
Roll small pieces into 3-inch oblong and other shapes.
Bake in moderate oven 15 minutes or until golden brown.
