Never Fail Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 c. warm milk
    1 stick butter
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten (room temperature)
    1 tsp. salt (optional)
    3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine 1 teaspoon sugar, yeast and warm water.
    Let stand 5 to 10 minutes, until yeast begins to foam.
    Thoroughly mix in a large bowl warm milk, butter, sugar and egg.
    Stir in yeast mixture and flour, adding a bit more if necessary to make a soft, pliable dough.
    Turn dough out onto floured surface and let rest while you clean and butter bowl.
