Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 oz. red food coloring
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 scant tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, mixing well.
    Make a paste with food coloring and cocoa and add to mixture.
    Add salt and flour with buttermilk and vanilla.
    Alternately add soda and vinegar; blend, don't beat.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0 in two greased and floured pans (9-inch).
