Italian Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1 1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    2 (16 oz.) cans plum tomatoes, undrained and chopped
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. chopped dried parsley flakes
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried whole oregano
    1 tsp. dried whole basil
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook ground beef, onion and garlic in a large skillet until meat is browned, stirring to crumble meat; drain well.
    Stir in tomatoes and remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
    Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes.
    Serve sauce with spaghetti or use to make lasagna. Yields 7 1/2 cups.
    Freezes well.
