Golden Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. smoked sausage or Polish sausage, sliced
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 medium head cabbage, shredded (about 5 c.)
    1/2 c. water
    2 golden Delicious apples
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard or 1 tsp. prepared mustard
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Brown sausage in skillet; drain.
    Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until golden.
    Add cabbage and water.
    Cover and cook for 7 to 8 minutes; drain.
    Core and chop 1 apple.
    Combine with sausage and cabbage.
    Turn into 1-quart casserole.
    Core and slice remaining apple and arrange over casserole.
    Combine brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, pepper and 1 tablespoon melted butter and pour over casserole.
    Bake covered at 375\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
