Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    loose leaf lettuce
    1 bunch green onions, sliced
    6 slices bacon
    1/2 c. water
    1/3 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Drain on paper towel.
    In bacon drippings, saute onions for 1 minute.
    In large pan, put water, vinegar, sugar and 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add onions and lettuce broken into bite size pieces.
    Turn heat off, leaving pan on burner and toss ingredients to coat or wilt the lettuce.
    Crumble the bacon and add to lettuce; toss again.
    Serve slightly warm.
