Broccoli Cheese Soup(Main Dish Or Appetizer) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 bunch fresh broccoli
    4 to 5 large potatoes
    water
    1 1/2 to 2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 medium onion, chopped
Preparation
    Peel, slice and place potatoes in 6-quart pot with chopped onion.
    Pour enough water to just cover top of potatoes.
    Cut broccoli flowerets off the stalk.
    Place flowerets only on top of potatoes.
    Add salt to water.
