Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    8 small onions, sliced
    1 red pepper, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1/2 c. coarse salt
    5 c. sugar
    5 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Combine cucumbers, onions, peppers and salt in large container. Cover with ice cubes and let sit for 3 hours or more; drain well.
    Cook together sugar, vinegar, celery seed, turmeric and cloves until boiling.
    Pour over cucumber mix.
    Bring all to a full boil at least 1 minute.
    Jar and seal.
