Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. melted shortening
    1 box brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream together melted shortening and brown sugar.
    Cool slightly.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to first mixture.
    Add chocolate chips and nuts.
    Bake in a greased pan at 350\u00b0 until done.
    Cool in pan.
