Fruit Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    6 1/2 c. water
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can crushed pineapple (with heavy syrup)
    1 (12 oz.) can frozen orange juice
    1 (8 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, cut into fourths
    4 ripe bananas, sliced (not too ripe)
Preparation
    Combine in pan the sugar and 2 cups water.
    Bring to a boil or until sugar is melted. Let cool. When cool, add remaining ingredients.
    Mix all together. Stir well and freeze in a gallon container or 2 (2-quart) containers until slush forms, about 8 hours. Stir slush to mix well.
    Serve from punch bowl or pour into cups and enjoy.
