Chicken Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. stewing chicken, cut up
    2 to 3 qt. cold water
    3 or 4 carrots
    2 stalks celery
    4 sprigs parsley
    1 onion
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Place chicken in a large pot and cover with cold water.
    Bring to a boil and skim off fat.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover pot; reduce heat and simmer gently 2 or 3 hours.
    Soup may be strained before serving.
