Caramel Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 cans Pet milk
    1 stick oleo
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix sugar, milk
    and oleo in saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly.
    Cook\tfor 2 or 3 minutes.
    Set off heat while testing
    a
    small
    amount
    in
    a
    saucer.
    When the mixture clings to the
    side of spoon, spread on 3 regular cake layers.
