Creamy Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. raw, long grain, cooking rice
    1 qt. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    raisins (optional)
    2 medium eggs, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Steam rice, milk and salt in a double boiler, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
    Add sugar, butter and raisins.
    Steam 1/2 hour longer.
    Remove from heat and fold in eggs and vanilla. Cool.
