Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. corn syrup
    2/3 c. molasses
    2 c. hot water
    1 1/3 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, shortening and salt into crumbs; keep 1 1/3 cups out for top of cake.
    Add liquid and baking soda.
    Mix.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Sprinkle crumbs on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
