Hawaiian Island Style Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) can pineapple chunks
    2 lb. chicken parts
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can Campbell's chicken broth
    1/4 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 tsp. soy sauce
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    1 medium green pepper, cut into squares
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Drain pineapple, reserving liquid.
    In skillet, brown chicken in shortening; pour off fat.
    Add reserved pineapple juice, broth, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and garlic.
    Cover and cook 40 minutes. Add green peppers and pineapple chunks and cook 5 minutes or until chicken is tender.
    Stir occasionally.
    Combine cornstarch and water; gradually add to mixture and cook until thickened.
    Serve with cooked parsley rice.
