Ingredients

1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk or cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Melt butter; blend in flour until smooth.
Gradually stir in milk.
Cook slowly, stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens.
Add seasonings.
Makes 1 cup sauce.
