Ingredients

1 stick butter or margarine
1 c. dark brown sugar
8 oz. chopped dates
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Rice krispies
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. flaked coconut
Preparation

Melt butter or margarine in large skillet.
Add dark brown sugar; cook until melted.
Add 1/2 cup chopped dates.
Remove from heat.
Add egg; cook for 2 more minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla; mix.
Add Rice Krispies (one cup at a time), then mix in chopped nuts.
Mixture will be cool enough to work into balls, then roll in flaked coconut.
