Ingredients

1 1/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. unsifted flour
3/4 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 (6 oz.) jars maraschino cherries, drained and halved (about 60)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In large bowl beat margarine and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix well.
Combine dry ingredients, stir into margarine mixture (dough will become stiff).
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press cherry half into center of each cookie.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool.
