Cherry Bounce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. liquor (whiskey)
    1 qt. fresh cherries (can be unpitted)
    3 c. sugar (white)
Preparation
    Mix well in gallon glass jar.
    Sit lid on (do not tighten lid; could explode).
    Let sit for at least 6 months, stirring occasionally.
    May return to whiskey bottle if desired.
    After 6 months, you may tighten lid.
    I use canning jars or jelly jars.
