Turnip Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions, diced (4 onions may be used for onion lovers)
    4 medium potatoes, diced
    4 medium turnips, diced
    6 c. water (add if needed)
    1/4 lb. salt pork, diced
Preparation
    Fry salt pork until crisp.
    Saute onions in fat.
    Add water and potatoes.
    Cook until tender.
    Add turnips, cook until tender. Do not overcook turnips.
    Very thin corn meal dumplings may be added with the turnips, if desired.
    Season to taste.
    Serves 4.
