Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1- 6 oz. pkg. white baking chocolate, cut into chunks
1- 7 oz. jar macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla; beat until smooth.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; stir until a soft dough forms.
Stir in white chocolate and macadamia nuts.
Drop teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
Store in an air tight container. Yields:
about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
