Ingredients

1 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. oil
3/4 to 1 c. milk
4 medium onions
Preparation

Batter:
Combine in sifter the sifted flour, salt and baking powder.
Beat egg until thick and lemon colored.
Add oil; stir in milk; amount depends upon thinness of coating desired.
Slice onions approximately 1/4 inch thick.
Heat oil.
Dip only a few rings at a time in hot oil; cook until golden brown.
Rings may be kept warm on a cookie sheet in low heated oven.
