Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided into 2 c.)
2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
3/4 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a large bowl combine flour, butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla.
Mix until well blended.
Stir in 1 cup of miniature chocolate chips and mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets coated with nonstick finish.
Shape into 2-inch logs.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden around edges.
Cool completely on wire rack.
