Cheddar Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. chopped potatoes
    1/2 c. carrots, chopped
    1/2 c. celery slices
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. margarine
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. cheese
    1 c. ham cubes
Preparation
    Combine water, vegetables, seasonings and ham.
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
    Make a white sauce of margarine, milk and flour.
    Add cheese and stir until melted.
    Stir into vegetables and ham mixture and heat until almost bubbly.
    Makes 3 quarts.
