Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pineapple supreme cake mix or white cake mix
    2 (5 1/2 oz.) vanilla instant pudding
    2 (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
    4 to 5 bananas, sliced in pineapple juice
    maraschino cherries (optional)
    1 (12 oz.) Cool Whip
    2 (8 oz.) crushed pineapple
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to directions.
    Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Let cool.
    Crumble 1/2 of cake into bottom of punch bowl.
    Mix one box pudding as directed and pour over cake in bowl.
    Layer 1 can cherries over pudding, next 1 can pineapple (drained).
    Now, cover with bananas, sliced.
    Top with Cool Whip and nuts.
    Repeat layers.
    This makes a very large cake.
