Mom'S Cherry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 c. confectioners sugar
    2 sticks butter or margarine (room temperature)
    3 large eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Put all ingredients except pie filling in mixing bowl.
    Beat with electric mixer on slow until mixed, then beat on high until light and fluffy.
    Put half the batter in a 9 x 13-inch greased cake pan.
    Spread pie filling on top of batter. Take rest of batter and spoon on lattice fashion.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
