Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 c. cold water
2 c. boiling water
1 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. plain flour
1/2 c. ripe olives, sliced
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
2 tsp. chili powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cubed sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0. Combine cornmeal, salt and cold water. Stir in boiling water. Cook and stir until thickened. While cornmeal is cooking, saut onion in oil. Add ground beef and brown lightly. Stir in flour, olives, tomatoes, chili powder and salt. Spread cornmeal mush evenly in bottom of greased 8 x 10 baking dish. Top with meat mixture. Arrange cheese cubes on top. Bake approximately 30 minutes.
