Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
    Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy.
    Add beaten egg yolks and beat thoroughly. Add sifted dry ingredients with milk and vanilla.
    Beat well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into cake pans that have been greased and floured.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until done.
    Cool and frost with your favorite frosting.
