Everyday Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk
    1 unbeaten egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Stir shortening just to soften.
    Sift in dry ingredients.
    Add 1/2 the milk and egg.
    Mix until all flour is dampened, then beat vigorously 2 minutes.
    Add rest of milk and vanilla; beat 1 minute. Fill paper-lined cupcake pans 1/2 full.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Makes 18 to 20.
