Creamy Baked Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 1/2 lb. onions (whole), peeled
    1 1/2 c. sliced celery
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. dry sherry
    1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    2 Tbsp. Tabasco sauce
Preparation
    In a large skillet, melt butter; saute onions until lightly brown.
    Stir in celery; cook 1 minute longer.
    Remove vegetables with a slotted spoon to a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    In same skillet, stir in flour; cook 1 minute.
    Remove from heat; gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
    Stir in wine and Tabasco sauce. Return to heat.
    Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture boils and thickens.
    Stir in cheese; then pour sauce over onions.
    Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until onions are tender.
    Serve.
