Mom'S Sweet Potato Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 1/2 c. enriched flour, sifted
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sweet potatoes, cooked and pressed through sieve
Preparation
    Bring milk to a boil.
    Add shortening, brown sugar, salt and sweet potatoes; cool to lukewarm.
    Sprinkle yeast over warm water. After 5 minutes, stir and combine with cooled milk mixture.
    Add 1 cup of the flour and beat until it is smooth; add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
    Mix thoroughly.
