Jenny'S French Dip Sandwiches(Servings: 8) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. rump roast, trimmed
    1 large onion
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    2 cans beef consomme
    3/4 soup can sherry
    Monterey Jack cheese or Mozzarella cheese
Preparation
    Place roast in Dutch oven.
    Slice onion in thin slices and put on top.
    Put onion soup mix in and then pour consomme and sherry over all.
    Bake (uncovered) at 325\u00b0 for 2 hours.
    Remove roast from pan and thinly slice.
    Put slices back into the pan and cook in oven an additional 45 minutes.
    Slice rolls and butter them. Broil until toasted.
    Place cheese slices on bottom, then put meat slices and onion on top.
    Serve with a cup of sauce for dipping.
