Easter Sweet Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. anise seed
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    3/4 c. melted shortening
    2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/3 c. warm water
    7 to 9 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except flour in warm bowl.
    Add flour gradually as needed and knead dough 10 minutes.
    Cover and let rise to double size.
    Punch down and let rise again.
    Shape into 2 or 3 loaves.
    Brush with beaten egg and let rise again in cookie sheet.
    Use ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 325\u00b0.
    Do not overcook.
